There were a few stories I really liked, and some that I just couldn't get into.
I don't care for much of the work done in this era. But I own this book, so I'm giving it a shot. The first selection that I liked at all here was a Time Travel farce by Larry Niven. Sturgeon's story was sweet. Litterbug, Morphett's *only* story according to isfdb, is good but has been anthologized elsewhere plenty of times, as has Sheckley's.So, yeah, that's it. Definitely not worth tracking down.
A pretty good collection. I have a hardback version. I wouldn't say there are any master stories here but overall was pretty good."Starting from Scratch" by Robert Sheckley was a particularly good tale. Another was "Get a horse" by Larry Niven. There are also stories by Sturgeon, Malzberg, Davidson, Pangborn, and Silverberg. And some great cartoons by Gahan Wilson.
A good collection of science fiction from a generally good series from what is probably the consistently best magazine in the genre. Personally, I recommend Pangborn's story as the most atmospheric and Sturgeon's as the most moving.
I was disapointed in this anthology. Contains stories from 1969 - 1971. Seemed very dated. It's just not a good representation of that era. Other anthologies cover it much better. Almost gave it two stars. But - Robert Silverberg and Theodore Sturgeon are always good. And it has six Gahan Wilson cartoons. If you don't know who Gahan Wilson is, look him up.
This was a good read. Only one story that I felt was poor, with a few fives. The best being Niven's time travel horse story, a story of swingers in LA, and a funny story by Sheckley.I liked the introduction by Ferman to Niven's story. Ferman relates that Niven thinks all time travel stories are fantasies. A few years later Niven wrote one of the great science fiction time travel stories, A World Out of Time.Ex-library

This is the nineteenth volume in the long-series anthology series of the best from the previous year of F & SF as selected by the editors. The year for this one is 1970. I especially liked Robert Silverberg's Sundance and Edgar Pangborn's Longtooth, as well as stories from Evelyn E. Smith, Barry N. Malzberg, Ron Goulart, and Theodore Sturgeon. Fifteen short stories, most of them pretty good. The two that stick out are both "bigfoot" stories and they are entirely different in style, plot and character but both share the same theme... that as a race bigfoot is dying out.
