The book series "Legends from Before Time" takes the reader into another world, which at first seems cheerful, but then is darkened more and more by the developments.
Martin Haak's debut novel tells the story of a young bear who sets out to find her destiny and herself. Full of life and curiosity about the world, she sets out on her journey to find clarity. But things don't always turn out as planned or dreamed. She eventually becomes embroiled in the conflict that is once again erupting between the two dominant empires after long years of an unspoken peace. Driven by a lust for power and the will to maintain the status quo at all costs, lies and intrigue ignite a fire that threatens to engulf the entire continent.

The fantasy world in which this story is set provides the appropriate framework, but it is not the focus of the work. The illumination of the various characters, their thought processes, their view of the world and the resulting motivations for their decisions form the core of the narrative. Past events, as well as current developments in the real world, are not included in the story by foresight of the author, despite the similarities, but only prove that history always repeats itself. Only with other names, places and in other colors. Or beings. Whether a weasel is a seneschal or a human being is a propaganda minister: In the end, it makes no difference to those who are affected by the consequences of the decisions of those in power.
