DNF 39%My summary of what I read till I lost interest ‣ annoying teenage kid is really annoying ‣Tch humans and their stupid fragile everything ‣and a lot of "I don’t have time for this" moments
Love the Kordolians!I love Anna Carven's books and buy them as soon as they come out. That being said, I believe she missed opportunities for relationship building in this book. A couple of the more obvious things - The heroine never meets her mate's twin or discuss the hero' s past at all and they never discuss her former marriage or the resulting damage of her time in with the villian. Maybe these type of interactions are not critical to the main storyline, but seem like gaping holes in buildi...
So much missingI wanted to love this. We finally have a FMC who is older and not model thin. She has a teenaged son. But the book was missing so much. The book was paced so slowly and because of her trauma a lot of what the MMC did made sense, but the book itself didn't need to drag. She told him it was important to her to spend time together which is a mature relationship thing, and then we didn't get to see them spend any time together. We just were told they had coffee and then he left on ano...
In the world of the Dark Star stories I liked this one the least. It was a little boring. There was so much that could have been developed like the anti alien faction that was spreading misinformation and causing riots. Much of the story was inner dialogue in the heads of the main characters. The FMC was a trauma nurse but she didn't get to do anything but do triage for a woman who was hit by a bus. She never finds her purpose in the Kordolian world in this book. A lot of time was spent looking
Another amazing story !!!This was a truly incredible story of the on going saga of the Kordolians !!! In this book Jeral gets his story......Jeral is one of the infamous 1st division warriors turned mercenaries under the command of former General Tarak of the Kordolian forces. Unbeknownst to most Earthlings, the Dark Star mercenaries are the ONLY things keeping the bad, noble men Kordolians away. Kora is a trama nurse , and after a brutal kidnapping and horrible abuse by a kordolian nobleman Rex...
Phenomenal as always Ann's Carven has stolen my heart with the Kordolians (my sexy silver, space elves). Unless I'm at work, I have a bad tendency of stopping whatever I'm doing when an Anna Carven book releases. Do not speak, look, or breathe in my directions. I'm in another world of utter breathtakingly love, devotion, loyalty, and violence. Nothing else exists.Thank you for such amazing books.
Absolutely the best !If you have ever read the Dark Planet and Darkstar Mercenaries series then you will understand my gushing and exuberance when I describe the joy I felt reading the first page. I am deeply involved with all things Kordolian. Poor Anna, she can't write fast enough for her to meet the demands of her undying fans. But, despite our impatience, we love and appreciate her and her talented tales. Steely severe warriors, who might not want to be compared to humans but are drawn to th...
My least favorite of this seriesSo much that is found in Anna Carven's " Dark Mercenaries " is missing in this book. I haven't, until this book, felt the need to skip pages in any previous offering in this series. But this book dragged along in such a manner I became bored and jumped ahead and skipped a couple of chapters. A first for me because the whole " Dark Planet Warriors " and spin-off series are keepers. These books are the ones one re-visits and re-reads over and over. So what happened...
New beginningsMissed you Anna and my much beloved kordolian. Love Jarel, he is so much like Tarak. It is interesting that Lots is a trauma nurse and will fit in with the other women and their special abilities to help the First Decision carries adapt to being mercenaries and families. I still think there a story to be told about kharek that may need 2books. He is more than anyone sees. The new being with the barbed tail adds a new twist! Enjoyed this book and the loves of the kordolians. I highl...
Impatiently waiting for the next bookOk first off, you must read dark planet series first. The books are stand alone but reading from beginning to end is totally worth it! Second, Ms. Anna Carven is an amazing author. This series is so good that I feel like I’m on the edge of a cliff waiting for the next one. I know it takes time to write a good book so I’ll wait, even if I’m impatient. I read this series through kindle unlimited.
The Perfect Fantasy With all that's going on in the world right now this was the perfect dose of "I will save you" to read. A hero who is almost invincible, turns into a marshmallow for his lady love, saves the day. Not too dystopia, not too tortured, completely unrealistic - this was the perfect fantasy to abandon the real world and disappear into for a few hours. Escapsim at its best. Next one please!
3.75 starsThere is a lot I like about this book and series. I like that the main character is a little older and has a teen ager. I like that she's a nurse. I also like that the plot thickens as the decide who is stealing humans from Earth.I didn't like that a lot of the history of Jeral seemed left out. There were holes in the plot about the riot on new years eve. Maybe it will be explained in another book? What about that woman who was injured? Maybe the next book will explain more?
