Just pre-ordered my per-usual-for-Mr. Giles 3 copies. I have two favorite classroom libraries, and one for me! Cannot. Wait.
Definitely mindbending, kind of like when I finish Rory Power, The Grace Year, Lord of the Flies, mixed in with a little The Kingdom. It's got some great social commentary, a nice mix of thrilling blood-thirstyness, and creep factor however I think it could have moved a little faster to keep up a breakneck pace rather than moving slowly toward the climax. It’s probably more speculative/dystopian fiction, featuring four Black teenagers who live in a “corporate community”, like the ones Disney and Amazon have been proposing as of late. There’s a lot of smart commentary and a really interesting premise, though an excess of violence and torture that might turn off some readers.
