After She Left was so hard to put down! A wonderful novel about how one defines family and their many struggles which is very relatable. There are so many twists and turns. When I thought I knew what was going to happen, Claire Amarti introduced an unexpected twist. Such an amazing read!There were characters that, based on their actions, I was not fond of. However, by the end of the book, you realized what events led up to that character doing/acting that way. That made me more appreciate those

Book 10 This is a quick read about family and emotional undercurrents. The day after Christmas Abigail, Gillian's older sister disappears and the story basically is where did she go and why and of course through in some own personal issues that Gillian is going through with her own marriage. I give it a ⭐⭐⭐ because it was very predictable and it didn't give a lot of time to finish the story. The author spent time working up to the issues, but it felt like a rush job at the end.
This book grabbed me right from te start. It's a slow burn that tells about secrets and family twists. Abigail is known for vanishing from time to time. But now she just left her 10 year old son behind. Poor kid is all I'm saying. Her sister Gillian wants to be a mother, but it just doesn't happen. A meddling mother, Big secrets that will them bite later on, in the second half the book lost pace and just dümpels for sich hin. vp no zon
I found this book really disappointing. None of the relationships were really developed, none of the characters were likeable (including whiny Gillian). Sam's OCD was so obvious, but also not part of the story. I would have guessed he also had autism, but suddenly toward the end of the book he was way too mature. Basically, you couldn't really empathize with anyone. Also, the whole DNA thing was obviously going to be the issue, but I didn't think even that was followed through.
After she left by Claire AmartiThere aren’t many books that have made me cry but this book really hit a nerve. It’s about love, loss, and hope for the future. It’s about unexpected surprises, good and bad, family members that clash and gel. It’s about us all, and how we are thrown together to take the rough with the smooth and find our own path on this journey we call life. I believe anyone who reads this novel will be able to associate with it in some way. Highly recommended.
This was so depressing that I nearly gave up. About halfway through it started getting interesting so I stuck it out. I give it 3 stars for being somewhat intriguing but not going to say I like it much.
Positive Notes: For the most part, the premise the book is well constructed. The character development of the two sisters, the primary protagonists, is solid. I enjoyed the primary characters. Since the plot is suspenseful, I returned to the book several times a day.
