Please don’t take my rating as an indication this is not a good book. It is a very good book, well written with a great story. But it just wasn’t for me. A lot of the story is based on real people and real events. There WAS a Michael Malone who is thought to have worked with Elliot Ness in Chicago. Elliot Ness DID go to Cleveland to head up public safety. There WAS a Torso Killer or Butcher of Kingsbury Run operating in Cleveland in the 1930s.
