2.5 stars rounded upI absolutely loved A Spindle Splintered! But while I had fun reading A Mirror Mended, I feel very "just okay" about it and don't know that it really added much to Zinnia's narrative arc. The concept is cool- Zinnia falling into a Snow White story with a hot older woman as the "evil queen". Oh, this was lovely - a wonderful ending to the duology that started with A Spindle Splintered. It's sharp and resonant, compassionate, emotionally powerful, often very funny (I LOVE the bickering-in-the-face-of-danger banter between Zinnia and the hot wicked queen!), and bittersweetly romantic (although not quite a romance as defined by genre rules).I loved every minute of it, and I love this duology of novellas SO much.
