Less promising than first issue. This one fought a little harder to introduce some Asian elements by having Silk inexplicably present in the male section of an all-nude Asian bathhouse. And it introduced a new Asian (Japanese) character in the form of Silk's therapist, who may or may not be evil.Meh. I'll keep reading this miniseries, but I'm not expecting it to be more than a little bit of light fun.
Moves the story forward with some nice elements but some weird parts.
I found this to be a fun issue— a handful of silly puns, interesting new elements to the story introduced, and a cute family moment.
I had to put the book down when the antagonist said “hashtag goals” 😭 I don’t think I’ll be continuing this.
I loved this one too. Probably not in my top 3 comics like the first one, but definitely up there. It progresses really well with the story while keeping it fun and interesting. Gonna definitely read it again.
Maurene Goo also writes YA books! This was a fun find! I enjoyed the characters.
A solid second issue.I think the fact that Cindy Moon is such a compelling character is what's carrying this for me, because the giant cat god monster is...uh...odd...The subplot with the new therapist who's actually a plant was a little obvious, but it was also kinda cute, so I'll let it pass. This feels like I'm being overly negative, but I really enjoyed this...because Cindy is great and Maurene Goo writes her really well.
3.5 Less humorous than issue 1 and the transition to the Yakuza bath house is weird. It doesn't even yield any information. It doesn't feel like this issue moves the story forward at all.
