1.5 starsOh boy, where to begin.... I've enjoyed Heather Graham's books in the past as the fun brain candy they can be, sadly this wasn't one of them. I can't say it's a terrible book, but it's far from good. Everything is just so lifeless, the characters, the mystery plot, the romance, everything was lame and weak. Which brings me to the dialogue which is clunky and often awkward. At one time, Nikki, the main character, had just come from her best friend's funeral and is now at the after-servic...

Rated 4.2 StarsOut of this 4 book series, Harrison Investigation, this book, Ghost Walk is my favorite. It's a Paranormal Romantic Suspense and lived up to its title and genre. Not a lot of humor, but plenty of ghosts, action & romance.I don't know why they say I've read this twice as this is my first time reading it. That's GR's for ya!
Decided to leave it unfinished. She used the word "demanded" too much and it was too white for a book set in New Orleans. I think I would have liked Nikki more if she wasn't all "I'm a pristine teetotaler in this boozer town. Hey Brent, did you start seeing ghosts after having too much peyote?" Ugh.
3.5 StarI really like this author's Paranormal books they are always full interesting details, and history that interweave with the mystery. The plot is full of twists and turns, and no matter how much I think I have figured out who the baddie(s) is/are I always end up being wrong! My only complaint is that the romances always feel so forced. I never feel an overwhelming passion between the H/h. They often feel "wooden" together. I think it's because the mystery story is the focus, and the romanc...
I enjoyed this paranormal romantic suspense book by Heather Graham. I especially liked the two main characters, Brent Blackhawk and Nikki DuMonde. There were enough characters in the book, that the murderer was not instantly obvious. Nikki DuMonde is crushed when her friend and fellow employee is found dead. She is confused by the fact that she is certain she awoke during the night to see her friend standing by her bed at what she now knows is the exact time of death. Soon, it becomes obvious to...
We made a quick trip to New Orleans so I decided to read this book before we left. The author's description of the city and the charcaters who live there are exactly what you can expect to find, and was spot on. I enjoyed being at the same places where the charcaters roamed, namely the famous cemetaries like LaFayette, as well as following the lives and footsteps of a ghost tour guide. The main plot was an interesting murder mystery (actual double murder) and had some twists. The love interest b...
Ghost Walk was a engaging story and the paranormal vibe was perfect. I loved that the story was set in New Orleans and that the main characters were tour guides that focused not only on the history but on the paranormal as well. Nikki was an interesting character who's paranormal talent was not one that she embraced, initially. The story became much more interesting when Brent Blackhawk came on the scene because then someone believed Nikki and it started moving the story along. As always there w...
set in new orleans
Ghost and NOLA how can you go wrongHeather Graham nailed it again with mystery, ghost, romance and a arm chair vacation to New Orleans. Suspence till the end. Easy read and full of fun NOLA facts and ghost stories.
This is Harrison Investigations #2. Nikki DuMonde runs a ghost walking tour of New Orleans. One of her employees and friend is found dead. But Andy came to her in the middle of the night asking for help. Then Nikki realizes that Andy was already dead. With the help of Brent Blackhawk, she learns that she can see ghosts. Nikki and Brent get caught in a drug smuggling operation. Are they the people responsible for the deaths?I liked this story. I love books that have New Orleans as a setting, add
I seriously feel like I wasted my time. Okay, ghosts you think scary, well this was not. Second, the relationship that is somehow developed in this book was so unbelievable that I want to choke on it. And the villian in the end was just so well, lame. I love to give authors a one chance to make me a avid reader and this one just did not do it for me. The only saving grace for me in this book was the interesting tidbits about New Orleans.
Once again I have to say I wish I had found Graham a few years ago when her books first came out. I am enjoying these ghost stories. Nikki's newest employee has been killed and her ghost comes to Nikki for help but she freaks (of course). Brent comes into the picture who has seen ghost all of his life to help Nikki and to solve the mystery. I made it all the way through this book without a clue of the "who and why" and I love that. The one thing I would complain about? Nikki's BFF Julian.. His c...
I don't like ghosts....period!!!! If I read about them, I dream about them so that keeps me far away. BUT...I've read Heather Graham before so trusted her. And was glad I did. I had no dreams and the book turned out to be very captivating. I enjoyed it...but I still don't like ghosts!!!!
To say I was bored is an understatement 🙃 I don't get it, I loved the first book by her I read but these last too were very... snoozefests. I just... didnt care about anything happening and the MC refusing to tell anyone important things, like she saw ghosts to the man who also saw them, just made me dislike her.
SMH.....I have always enjoyed Heather Graham books but this one just left me feeling sooooo disappointed. It began with a ridiculous amount of characters introduced right off the bat, none of which were ever fully developed.....ever....Ms. Graham would throw in what seemed like afterthoughts about a characters background to make it fit into the story plot at that particular moment. The ending was horrific....this book was based on characters being able to see and talk to the dead but at the end....
At first, I was confused with all the different characters. It was hard to keep them all straight. I thought the story slowed down a little with all the tours and explanations. I got hooked trying to figure out who the bad guy was. The ending was okay--Just a little "Scooby Doo-ish"--when they said...oh this is the bad one right here who really isn't who he says he was. I loved the hero, I thought Brent was a great hero. I'm sure he was a hunk. I just hated that the scene that brought both of th...
Two and a half stars. A light read; not much depth to the characters and the plot not particularly gripping but still kept me reading to find out who done it. I must admit, Initially I suspected this person but dismissed him because he was a nothing character who popped in and out the story without having much affect the lives of the main characters. I thought it was too easy - oh well. The romance was okay, although I'm not a big fan of two people becoming soul mates within the matter of days o...
Standard paranormal romance. Likable protagonists. Immediate emotional connection that never is explained. Too many characters that it was a bit confusing. The changes in the POV don't help. Nice writing style and good setting. The mystery itself wasn't terribly interesting. What the novel needed was more tension. For some reason, I didn't feel it at all.
