Finished reading: November 7th 2021 "Privately, he's made Hughes and me aware of his actual success theory: dumb luck and two hardheaded investigators taking too many chances." *** A copy of this book was kindly provided to me by Netgalley and Thomas & Mercer in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! ***(view spoiler)[I'm always in for a solid and thrilling detective thriller, and after highly enjoying the first two books of the Underwater Investigation Unit series there was just no w
I’ve been a fan of the two earlier books I’m this series. And this book continues that trend. It’s a fun, entertaining thriller set in the waterways of Miami. Sloan McPherson is a member of the Underwater Investigative Unit. This time, her team is called to a cruise ship that is quickly sinking. Turns out, it was a series of explosions that caused its demise. The book romps along at a fast pace. There are lots of twists to keep the reader engaged. Sloan tends to go her own way and this time is n...
"From Key West to Alligator Bend, Florida has its share of communities of people seeking to escape society at large. Sometimes it's for philosophical reasons, and sometimes it's to engage in criminal activity. Often one leads to the other."3.5 rounded down.Sloan McPherson is back in another voyage of the Underwater Investigation Unit, this time jumping right into the action as McPherson and her partner, Hughes, rush to help out with a capsizing cruise-liner. There's more to the case than first m...
Exciting action in the third installment of this adventure thriller series. The Florida Underwater Investigative Unit is called to the scene when a cruise ship is rocked by a series of well-placed explosions and begins to list and sink close to the harbor. As the rescue team looks for any remaining crew or passengers while the lifeboats head to shore, they discover that the damage is intentional and points to perhaps being caused by some sort of ecoterrorist. An intense investigation involves the...
This is the third in the UIU series and the second one I have read.(I have yet to read the first in the series). I really enjoyed the second book and I enjoyed this one too, albeit not as much. This time we have Sloan McPherson called to a cruise ship that is sinking off the coast of Florida. Explosions on board make it look like a terrorist attack but as Sloan digs deeper she finds herself embroiled in a corruption plot that goes to very dark and high places. This one was a fun and entertaining r...
Andrew Mayne brings action, suspense, and intrigue to Sea Storm , the third novel in the Underwater Investigation Unit (UIU) series. Whether you like the action to be underwater, on the water, or on land, readers will find what they are seeking. A coast guard request for assistance brings Sloan McPherson and her colleague Scott Hughes to a sinking cruise ship off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. There’s been multiple explosions, evidence may be lost due to an incoming tropical storm, an...
He has done it again. All three books in this series are hard to put down. The way the characters are developed makes me want to know more and more. I will be downloading all of the rest of his books later today. This book is well worth the read. Hope there are many more in this series.
I love this series, the characters are all unique and quirky and really add to the story. Sloan is a great kick ass character, and it was great to see her daughter following in her footsteps. As much as I loved this book , I would have liked more underwater action in this book. I'm looking forward to the next instalment in this series. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
