Fenny The Desert Fox

Fenny The Desert Fox

Eleonore Schmid
0/5 ( ratings)
This delightful 30 page children's story tells the story of Fenny, a desert fox, who has fur as yellow as sand, very sharp eyesight, and ears as large as his head. Fenny makes friends with a lion and then he meets a black bird who tells him to head north to meet some red foxes. Fenny begins his journey, even crossing the sea on a boat, and meets his first red fox. He is amazed at the trees he sees. The red fox teaches Fenny to catch geese and ducks until Fenny is shot at by a gamekeeper. He quickly decides to return to the desert until he meets a white bird who tells him he should keep heading north to meet white foxes. After a long journey, Fenny meets his first white fox who teaches him to catch fish through a hole in the ice, but Fenny is so cold he can barely taste the fish. They are chased by a pack of howling wolves and barely get away. This time Fenny decides he really is going back to the desert. His friend the lion is so happy to see him and have him back. The lion tells him "Everyone ought to explore the world once in a while, otherwise he might think other places are better than his own." Filled with beautiful color illustrations by Eleonore Schmid, this classic children's book will be enjoyed by young and old alike.
