God I love this series so much! I went into it thinking they would be fun YA fantasy books and not much else, but it’s ended up being one of my all time favorite series. Disappointed. This one didn't resonate with or excite me like the second and third books did. It fell a bit flat. Update: After letting it sit for a few days I have decided to only give it three stars.

This series started out good. It lasted till the second book. The downfall started on the third book. The fourth book was just hell. It was so unnecessarily long that I have lost a lot of brain cells trying to comprehend what just went down. I’m so excited for the next book to come out! I think it’s awesome that her writing shows that it’s okay that your first love isn’t the one you end up with and that you can outgrow each other and still be friends. I love Grace and Hudson. They are better suited for each other and their relationship is more mature and healthy than Grace and Jaxon’s ever was.
