Here we encounter AC Benus becoming what Stefan Zweig called the “primal poet” – one able to create verse that was “emotive because it was born of passion, emotive because it longed to generate passion in others. These poems were calls to the masses; the poet spoke to others as an individual in the circle, interacting as the prophetic eye upon the crowd.”
