The Curiosity of Scrooge (The Scrooge Years book #3)

The Curiosity of Scrooge (The Scrooge Years book #3)

Judy La Salle
0/5 ( ratings)
In this sequel to “The Society of Scrooge,” Ebenezer Scrooge still cannot ignore a mystery, even when he is warned by Marley’s ghost not to pursue it. He convinces himself that playing detective is the right thing to do, no matter what is at stake. In this instance, solving a murder may require him to look into a disbanded brood of thieves from several years before, and any resolution could bring heartache, rather than relief, to those involved.

Between the spring and fall of 1846, Scrooge is the subject of rumors and is even the target of violence. He also faces rejection by his beloved Rebecca, which generates support from a surprising faction. Through it all, Scrooge stays true to his renewed character, but it is not always easy since he can still be stubborn and short-sighted.

Within his society of business associates, friends and relatives, Scrooge manages to carry on with the daily commerce and culture of Victorian London, but he also discovers more of the dark side of its teeming humanity. Jacob Marley’s ghost patiently continues to assist, but he is about to reveal some astounding surprises of his own.
