Total average rating for two storiesJY Neon Yang's A Stick of Clay, in the Hands of God, is Infinite Potential" : Holy War with mechs and crisis of identities. Kinda boring and repetitive despite the cool concept. **Vajra Chandrasekera's Translator at Low Tide: One of the more powerful depiction of the end of days. Spiced with some Lord of the Flies thingy, it is unsettling but effective. ****
What Happens in Solarium Square 21 by Ashleigh Shier - 5*Adorable story that reminded me a lot of the Murderbot novellas. It was a funny and sweet stories about the life of two robots who are trying to hide their owner's death in order to remain free. A favorite of the year without a doubt.Albedo Season by Ray Nayler - 4.5*What would happen if people actually listened to scientists? I really liked the story, the writing was lovely, the pacing was perfect and it was oddly comforting for a end of

Another good issue, with my favorites being the Shier and Balder stories. The Shier had a lighter tone I appreciated this year.

What Happens in Solarium Square 21 by Ashleigh ShearsI thought this story was delightful, telling the story of little robots just trying to get by. Made me grin.Albedo Season by Ray NaylerLiked this a lot. The story of a world being thrown into imbalance by the people who settled it, and how that occurred, was drip-fed well by the framing device and I enjoyed finding out about it.A Stick of Clay, in the Hands of God, Is Infinite Potential by JY Neon YangThis one was a bit weird? It was fine, but...

What Happens In Solarium Square 21 - Ashleigh Shier ****Sweet and lighthearted story about two household robots puppeting their dead owner's body to avoid being taken away and reassigned. Balances the humourous back and forths and tone without being overbearing. Fun!Albedo Season - Ray Nayler ***Colonists on a forested moon find their crops being killed by a fungus, one of them realises it heralds a larger disaster and has to persuade them to act. Timely on the importance of listening to experts...
