I had a hard time sticking with this one.I've said before that I found the panels of Babe telling gibberish stories for panel after panel really annoying, and Babe was the one who introduced this deluxe edition. So you can imagine that it didn't really start off on the right foot for me. <--I skipped the foreword, btw. No way was I going to read a wall of nonsense text.Babe showed up a lot. At the end of each issue, there was some little Babe story. I thought maybe it would all tie in and he wou...
For what it’s worth, I like Jack Frost. I think he and MacDuff are super cool. Also, I think it’s fitting that everyone died arbitrarily at the end. The series is so chaotic and random that it felt fitting. I mean, were people really expecting a meaningful, loaded ending after a series full of fun and nonsensical content like that one?Much prefer the main Fables arc and most of the spin-offs, but Jack of Fables has still been a cool read.
Love Fables and even Jack of Fables? Then don't read this. Read up to the The Great Fables Crossover and pretend Jack of Fables ends there. Because he basically does. Jack Frost takes over the book while Jack of the Tales disappears for a majority of the book. When he does reappear it's only going to infuriate you. Jack Frost is earnest, wholesome, and boring. So are his stories. And the end? It's such a middle finger to readers. Willingham and Sturges act like two spoiled brats who are told to
Fables is excellent Jack of fables is excellent up to the final arc which is a total disjointed mess , Jack deserved a much better ending, i hope the end of fables is a lot better when i reach those volumes.
Well that tied together in one big mess, which I suppose is appropriate for a Jack story. I did enjoy the Jack Frost tales and was especially amused withe Babe the Blue Ox's asides.
