La Rumorosa Rock Art Along the Border: A survey of Kumeyaay and Related Artwork in Southern California, Colorado River Corridor, Western Arizona and Baja California
The first and only book to explore the Native American prehistoric artwork of the mountainous and desert wilderness along the California-Baja California border along with forays into southwest Arizona and up the Colorado River country to the Grand Canyon where the Patayan and Kumeyaay once lived. The book contains more than 200 full and half page vibrant color photographs which have never been published previously, in fact, most of these rock art sites are newly discovered. Many of these panels are virtually invisible due to age but are digitally resurrected through D-Stretch technology. The book also contains interviews with living Kumeyaay and a review of the pertinent professional literature by noted archaeologists, Native Americans and licensed volunteers. This first volume presents the highlights of the first five years of wilderness surveying by up to 50 collaborators.
