Hello dear reader, I’m taking us on a journey through our dreams, but I want to talk about nightmares. Are they just in your mind playing tricks on you, or are they something more? How do you define a nightmare? I mean true nightmares, the kind that rips a mind and soul apart shaking you up the next day, or repeatedly over and over, making you not want to sleep. Do nightmares come from what you did or what you saw? Do you think your nightmares are supernatural, with extraordinary creatures lurking in the shadows and mysterious forces overwhelming your mind, but beyond our ability to comprehend? Or are nightmares more ordinary in their origin, stemming from human weaknesses or failings, or do we get them when we are damaged in some way? Maybe your nightmares come suddenly, after, a bad day or when you haven’t slept for many of the night before. Is it that you have a devastating secret you’re afraid will be revealed? Perhaps your nightmare unfolds over time giving you a glimpse, a piece of a dark puzzle each night, messing with your day to day life. Of course, there are those nightmares that send you to the therapist, and after you tell them, they reveal you to find a new one. Maybe they don’t make any sense at all and are just a bad dream.
