Don’t Open the Door is a horror anthology (whose profits will go to a good cause- the charity -the Anxiety and Depression Association of America). So you can read these tales and shiver and also know you’re helping folk while you’re being terrorised. It showcases the up and coming talents of ten new(ish) horror writers from all over the world brought together by editor/writer Cory Mason who has his own creepy story ‘The Locks’ contained within. Beware the click of the lock!Other authors appearing...
Yes, I'm one of the authors, and yes that probably makes my opinion biased lol but here are my thoughts on Don't Open the Door.Even though I was a contributor to the collection, we all got complete creative freedom to write the story we wanted, so when the collection was completed I got to read it as an actual reader. I mentioned it during my progress, when I got about halfway through I was majorly creeped out. I needed to let the fear settle before I continued. Though there's a theme to the col...
Don’t Open the Door is a collection of short stories that offers a binge-worthy read for someone who is trying to escape the clutches of Netflix. All profits from this anthology will be donated to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, which gives you another reason to enjoy this book.I must admit right away that horror is not my preferred genre to read but I also must say that this anthology had my attention and very much enjoyed reading the vastly different stories. This collection...
Doors are a common image in horror. They can provide sanctuary from intruders or keep secrets safe. But doors can also hold you prisoner, hide bodies, or contain our darkest fears. Don’t Open the Door is an excellent collection of 13 stories which explores these nightmares and more.If you dare to crack these doors open, you’ll discover a twisted tale reminiscent of the Bluebeard folktale, witness the effects of a mind-controlling fungus, and find a mysterious poem that will have you checking ove...
These horror stories are super creepy and deal with basic human responses to fear and the unknown. A great collection of everyday horror, science fiction, and things that go bump in the night. Not for the faint of heart! You will have goosebumps!
Don’t Open The Door is a horror anthology edited by Cory Mason, who also wrote one of the stories, “The Locks.” I was attracted to the book by one of its other authors, Yawatta Hosby, an author whose works I read whenever an author alert appears. Cory Mason writes in a “Note From the Editor” that stories in the collection are “a study in what it means when the normal is a thin facade, and things are not as they seem.” (Kindle location 60). The point is important. Stories do not veer off into hor...
Don't Open the Door is a good collection of many different horror stories. I wasn't expecting such a range of shorts from gruesome and gory to entirely psychological. There's something eerie for everyone. An easy to read, interesting bunch of tales that will stay with you and pop up to say "boo!" when you're home alone and think all is safe. They named it Don't Open the Door for a reason. Fantastic.
Don’t Open the Door, edited by Cory Mason, is a horror anthology featuring a range of writers from the relatively new to the more experienced. Each has contributed a story to this collection to show their support for the charity, Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA).The stories follow the theme of leaving well alone, as in those horror movies when you find yourself shouting at the screen, ‘don’t open that door!’ The authors have provided a wide variety of styles from the openly g...
