Fury From The Deep - A Relic of the Old Time

Fury From The Deep - A Relic of the Old Time

Alan Hayes
0/5 ( ratings)
Once upon a time before the internet and computers, there were things called typewriters and a wondrous television programme called Doctor Who. Love for the latter drove young fans towards the use of the former and after much clacking at the unforgiving keys, many hundreds of fanzines were born. Some were good, some were bad and some were unintentionally hilarious. This book collects together all four original issues of one of those Doctor Who fanzines, Fury From The Deep, produced in 1979-1980 by the fourteen year old Alan Hayes. It was never a classic, but over the space of thirty years and more, these fanzines have grown into a fascinating time capsule which afford a peek into the fan experience of a bygone age. Also presented in this collection are an engaging introduction by Alan Hayes, an afterword by Jim Mortimore and a series of contemporary letters to the editor from Doctor Who's cast and crew.
