3.5 stars. While I'm still pretty invested in this story, I'm getting a wee bit tired of the constant cliff-hangers and the nearly non-existent pay off. There's so many questions, and, rather than answering any of them, more just keep getting tacked on. You gotta give your reader at least something to latch onto as a method of keeping them interested, you know? An "oh-shit" moment if you will. I know I've said this series reminds me of Stranger Things, and it still does, but now it's more like s...
Omg, the ending! I can't wait to see what happens next!!
(A-) 80% | Very GoodNotes: Read in trade paperback. Collective review for issues #1-5 can be found here: Something is Killing the Children, Vol. 1.
WHAT A CLIFFHANGER AHHHHWith the action right behind the corner, so mean!
the way they all hate the girl who's trying to save their asses
I'm ready for the next issue.
Erica is so cool.
What a freaking cliff hanger!!!!
Okay so this series just keeps getting better and better. Though I think the Tommy's actions so far aren't really making much sense, I am fully invested and ready to see where his character arch goes (or doesn't go based on that cliffhanger). Also I am even more interested in the man who called the Sheriff on the phone and what he said to the Sheriff to scare him so bad. I'm ready for the next one!
It's so bad I cannot read any more for now. The best was the interaction with the policeman. Epic.
Ooh, getting more info now but that cliffhanger is killing me.
Welcome Back!I can not believe we are already at the end of July. It feels like time is flying by but not at the same time. I have been so busy the past few days but I got some time the other night to settle in and read the next issue of Something is Killing the Children. I picked this series up on a whim from my Hoopla a little while ago and I have really been enjoying this series so far. I think I am about halfway into the issues that are currently available and things are starting to pick up....
I feel like the issues are getting shorter and shorter and while I'm not sure what the story will be doing after the first few issues, I love the cliffhanger endings! There's so much more to tell!
I really enjoyed this one. That cliffhanger though!
Dumb ass Tommy. About to get himself tore up. This series continues to be awesome. Issue 5 can’t get here fast enough.
The contours of this new world are really intriguing. Erica and her stuffed octopus are bringing the strangeness. Apparently certain people can't see the monster. Erica can and so can the children. Erica has to cut someone with this strange material to get him to be able to see this monster. I want to learn more about the strange dimensions opened up by this mysterious figure. It is not even clear if she is as well-intentioned as she seems.
"Can I see the crappy, run down models?" Best line this issue. More information about what is coming up, but still more secrets and more confusion. Again, this issue ended with a cliffhanger and I can't wait to get the next issue...
"Something Is Killing the Children #4 continues the dark and disturbing tale of a town plagued by monsters. But as with many monsters, it is only the children they hunt that can see them. That’s where Erica Slaughter comes into play. Erica has earned her last name, due to all of the monster-hunting she has done. And the fourth issue in this series will finally give readers a glimpse into her hunting practices, all while raising the overall tension. If you’ve been following the series up until now...
Yep that was great! Glad to have fun those for the end of the years!! Still lot of mysteries and the overall story evolving slowly but intriguing and entertaining enough to have me enjoy it very much!
Ugh I need the next one!
