ThunderCloud's outer obstacles force him to confront his inner demons, real and imaginary, which led him to his lonely situation. What he discovers inside, changes his whole outlook on his past, present, and future. The oddities of the people, cultures, and generations he confronts not only challenge his manhood but also determine his ability to relate and to live and work within a group. He learns -- and we do with him -- that, ultimately, every condition of his life and the consequences he faces are measures of his responsibility level. Whether or not his tribe accepts him upon his return with a motley gaggle of people and myriad stories to tell, is the final hurdle he must conquer ... after he rescues a youthful gang of renegades, a precocious runaway lad, and, from certain death, the woman who may one day bear his children!
