In 1980, in collaboration with Steve Wood, editor of the Sunday Times artist Willats began pursuing the theme of what people think and feel working in cramped offices day in and day out. He focused on four professionals, visiting and photographing them in their workplaces from March to July. Photographs from that project have hung in the Museum Für Geganwartskunst Siegen since 2011.
