Bettie page saves the world!I am such a sucker for these Bettie Page comics it's like handing water to a drowning man who also happens to be a comics coiniseur. Once again writer Dave Avallone comes up with veritable sock walloper of a story concerning lovecraft's great old ones and a nefarious attempt to take over the earth, only to be sent packing by our righteous and quick thinking heroine. Excellent art, too. It's the whole package, no doubt about it.
Impressive. I never dreamed I'd read a story that combined Bettie Page and Lovecraftian horror, two things I love. The mash-ups with Bettie and Red Sonja and Vampirella were also noteworthy and pleasurable. I love this type of creative, intelligent, pastiche fantasy.
I had a lot of fun with this. Bettie hops through different worlds trying to defeat Cthulhu and the other Old Ones. Yep, you read that right! I read this because I really enjoyed Avallone’s Elvira book. The set ups are superficially similar. But this having a pulp sci-fi bent versus horror. It was a really fun read.
La historia no tiene sentido alguno, los 4 primeros capítulos viajando por mundos extraños, y luego otros 6 para detener a las abejas... Todo tirando de un interruptor :(
This is super fun, loved it! Bettie is strong, sassy and sexy! I love the pairing of real life 1950's pin up with comic book heroine. The art is striking and colourful. Highly recommended to all graphic novel fans.
This was so much fun! I have to admit I didn’t know much about Bettie before I started reading the comics. What a lady! I’m so glad I got all the funny references in this book; and if you know a bit about Vampirella, Red Sonja and Deja Thoris, you’ll probably like this collection as well. And Cthulhu. Can’t forget about Cthulhu.
