This was a really satisfying ending to the series. As per usual I wish it had been longer and I wish that we had more but I was really intrigued by how it all turned out. Will for sure have my eyes peeled for more from this author.
Lowkey this is 1.5 but the art is still so good I bumped it up. The ending was really rushed and borderline nonsensical. Disappointing. Trigger warnings/squicks: Gore, conversion therapy, domestic abuse, furryRepresentation: female MC, background queer characters, background character w/ facial scarring
Full Review To ComeBOOKCITEMENT LEVEL 3.5/5Hmm... I don't even know. This series turned into something weirder than I was expecting it to be. It's a lot different from that first volume. I didn't understand everything that was going on. I wish it had been a longer comic series so there had been more time to develop stuff. It was just kind of strange. The art was fantastic though. I do love the art.
The art is still stunning. That hasn't changed.I feel like Mirka wasn't clear on how to close this out. Not that she didn't know what the endpoint was. On that she was was clear. It just seemed like the way it all went down was...awkward. Maybe a missed something obvious. Maybe the end is more meaningful to others. It just fell flat for me.Flat or not, it was still absolutely gorgeous art.
2.75 stars That was honestly a terrible ending. The story that had been developed was rushed and messy. The ending was wrapped up so badly. The transitions were practically nonexistent. This finale fell so flat and did not meet my expectations. I’m mega disappointed.
This was a nice ending (potentially?) to the series. There was a lot more family drama origin story going on in this volume which was okay but I was really excited for an epic showdown. So much buildup was created to make you think an uprising was on the brink and a revolution was about to unfold, but the story just jump-cut straight to the end which was pretty anticlimactic. The art is as beautiful as ever, but this installment especially compared to the previous two left much to be desired wit...
It veers away from what one might have considered the core themes and starts focusing on a chosen one storyline. What could have been a strong critique of how society views «deviant» relationships, ended up as an action focused quest with little time to build up any of the characters in a substantial way. Its still a good time and a fun read, but not as poignant as i expected it to be.Also a bit to many title name drops... how often do people really say «unnatural»?
0 stars, no banging.JkReally cool twist, I like what the story was trying to do here. Still very teenage emo girl fantasy (ie Mary Sue!) but we all need that sort of fantasy, don't we? I really wish we got Khal and Leslie's falling in love story and more about Tijoux, but... oh well, maybe more to come?
This was a fantastic series! I can't wait for her next project in 2020!!
I really loved the first 2 volumes in this series, but this one disappointed me a little. I may go back and reread the whole thing at some point to see if it's just that it had been too long since I read v2 or something, but I felt a little confused with some of the direction the plot took in this installment. It seemed abrupt and not very well explained, and I didn't love some stuff about the ending. The art was still gorgeous and I still enjoyed the overall theme a lot, though, and I definitel...
Pretty can't save this series. The art still solid but the story is so bad compared to volume 1. Just loses itself and never returns. A 2 at best and that's cause art is great.
The conclusion of what still feels like an awkward mixture; Andolfo has an undoubted gift for drawing sexy anthropomorphic animals, but that was better expressed on the covers than in the comic proper's attempt to redo Animal Farm as an occult conspiracy thriller. Which said, having Napoleon's scheme played out with the different animals representing races rather than classes did come with one benefit: there's nothing to make racism sound quite so stupid as an absolutely deadpan rant on the prin...
Massively rushed which made it to downhill super fast. Unfortunate
This is the best volume by far. Built to a good reveal in issues 10-11. As my first venture into romance featuring anthropomorphic animals (who ride dragon creatures as pseudo horses?) I really enjoyed it. There could have been more relationship development between 2 MCs but they were cute together in the end nonetheless.
This is such a well written graphic novel in my opinion. the art style is just amazing. i hope this continues on.
