The autumn of 1893 should have been a time to celebrate the harvest, to gather in the park and listen to the barbershop quartet sing “A Bicycle Built for Two.” But life is never that simple in the west. Instead Sheriff Bob Carter finds himself unraveling a mystery involving Vance Kane, an unscrupulous banker, and Mathew Sully, a stranger who rides into town on a palomino named Spirit. Within days the sheriff learns that Sully’s arrival has forced an evil presence to reveal itself. Brandishing an ivory handled .45 Colt, Sully is intent on delivering his own brand of justice.
