The Story Of Electric Ladyland: The Longer It Goes On The Weirder It Gets

The Story Of Electric Ladyland: The Longer It Goes On The Weirder It Gets

Bob Nord
0/5 ( ratings)
The Story Of Electric Ladyland is an autobiography of the early life of Lew White and his friend from childhood, Bob Nord.
It is only a fragmentary glimpse at the musical experiences and external factors that impacted them, because there was far more going on other than music. Lew and his friend Bob Nord formed their first garage band before anyone knew what a garage band was, and went on to play all around the area of Louisville, Kentucky during the early to mid 1960's. After returning from military service, Lew completed college, and opened a small record shop with his old friend in 1978. The business slowly grew through many stages to eventually become the Electric Ladyland we know today. Lew and Bob turned the management of the store over to the younger generation as of 2014, but pop in from time to time. The store captures the feel of the days when the music culture was in its golden years, and many people come in to show their children, and grandchildren, what it was like when they were growing up and frequented the store. It still flourishes with peace and love!
There are many photographs of the old locations, and you'll get a glimpse at how the musical environment shifted over the years from the perspective of people who played the music, and stayed inspired to share music of all kinds with many people.
This book is more than a memoir or autobiography about one person, it is a unique peek at the pop culture wonderland that built an important part of America's character, and influenced millions of people in many other forms of expression.
