The lobsters had hard shelled bodies and plus the pressure under the sea would make the bombs less deadly. Of course the lobsters survived it didn’t take a genius to work that out.
He had seen pictures of them of course, and some videos on YouTube but he wanted to see them for real. He looked out to sea Shale bay was about ten miles down the coast from lobster bay, and there was a good chance that the lobsters would resurface somewhere like this.
They had to be alive he knew it in his very soul and he looked across the sea hoping that they would come out, and prove him right . He was not stupid of course, and knew they were killers hungry for human flesh. He would hide and film them and take his own pictures.
He sighed every day for the past two years he had walked along this beach hoping that the lobsters would show themselves. But they must be making up their numbers again, and getting ready for another war against mankind.
He stood there the wind brushing against his body and stared out to sea, and then he slowly turned and headed for the steps that led upwards to the town of Shale bay.

Stanley heard the screams over the loud music, but it could have been kids mucking about or screams of laughter. Then he heard another scream and this time it sent shivers down his spine. He looked around he was by the spot lights with his wife, and people didn’t appear to have heard. That was one blessing anyway “I’m just going to see what that was darling,” he said to his wife Anita who stood by his side silently, sipping her drink and watching the party.
“What darling,” she asked him she hadn’t heard a thing.
“I thought I heard something back there,” he said and motioned with his head.
“It’s probably some young couple having fun dear,” she said and wished it was her, she was old but still enjoyed sex, but that hadn’t happened in a long time now.
“Well you stay here I will just have a quick look okay just to make sure,” he smiled at her and his face looked like a skeleton he was so thin.
She sighed and smiled at him “Okay darling but hurry back.”
The party was swinging and people danced and laughed and drank, the thrashing bodies on the sandy beach looked almost erotic. Stanley passed the spot lights and by the light of the full moon he walked towards some caves. He saw the rock pool and then heard a munching sound, like some kind of animal was eating. The moon light was strong and then he saw a dark shape rise up its claws spread out wide and he gasped. It was the giant lobsters back from their watery grave, but how could this be!
Stanley run for his life and headed back to the party, he saw his wife and screamed at her “Anita run for your life!”
She turned round and waved at him.
