We Cried Together and Then We Kept Quiet!
My sister and I were only children when it happened!
My sister and I kept a huge childhood secret from the world because we were afraid of what people would think and say about us.
We kept the secret so locked up after that day, we’ve never even spoken about it to each other. When the “#MeToo” movement started, it helped me to build up the courage to finally tell my story about what happened to me, in writing this book. The #MeToo changed the culture around all unwelcome sexual advances. It gave us the freedom to speak our truth about the sexual misconduct we encountered without the fear of being judged.
If you know of a similar situation, I would love to hear from you. We were gang-raped side by side in our own home when we were children. And, we were forced to watch as each of us was tortured by the rapists. I don't know how unique our experience is, but I don't know of another situation like ours. I explained in detail what happens to us that day.
I shared with you some tools I use to overcome the sex trauma syndrome I suffered with for many years. If you or someone you know is suffering in silence, from a rape and or any kind of sexual misconduct. You need this book.
Moving forward, I talked about how love and compassion could be taught to our next generation of men and women, and this could help both genders to learn to respect each other. I'm not saying it would be the answer to avoid disrespect and gender biases, I'm just saying that when you respect and love one another it is less likely for you to hurt each other.
