Scarlet Sin

Scarlet Sin

Alcebiades Diniz
4/5 ( ratings)
As forgotten as Asta Nielsen’s Self-Portrait
I cry for every teensy velvet petal-faith
there...on cardboard and oil-painted face
thwarted desire, soulace without a trace

From the very beginning, we at the Raphus Press have tried to observe simultaneously the present / future and the past – Janus's double-faced visage that seeks to revive the extinct fossils and at the same time aspires to new annihilations. Thus, we value experimentation, innovation, risk; and Fernando Naporano's book of poems, Scarlet Sin, is like the milestone of new paths. It is a surrealist fragmentation of a daily life transfigured by Art, frames of expressionist movies never filmed, gallery of multicolored snapshots of a fantastic, changing, insatiable reality.
So, we are proud of our new release, Scarlet Sin – a river, flowing the poetic images, extraordinary experience through a lyric perception at once sophisticated and immediate, such as the prophetic vision or the satori arising from our daily interactions. Through these poems, everything, from objects to relationships, from visions to memories, intricate evocations float – a warm, pulsating universe evoked by short verses, fast strokes that disarm every usual expectation.
