I was pleasently surprised with that one. Most of the Companion Chronicles I have listened to so far just did not do anything for me and left me underwhelmed. There are a few noteable exceptions, like the Peri and the Piscon Paradox, but in general I am not very enthusiastic about them.I also have not listened to the other Nu-Who Chronicles (9th Doctor and 10th Doctor) because I was just not interested when reading the description. The 11th Doctor Chronicles I bought on a whim, because the stories...
Jacob Dudman is simply brilliant as 11th Doctor and loved the 4 stories :)
Not enough other actors.
These four stories take place at various points during the Eleventh Doctor's era. Jacob Dudman not only does an amazing impression of Matt Smith but has an amazing talent in audio book narration. He keeps the story moving with great pace and inflection. The inclusion of a second actor (akin to Big Finish's companion chronicles) is a great addition to the audio book format as it means conversations can happen really naturally. It, like me, you love Matt Smiths Doctor then you'll love these. :D
I'm still processing how I feel about this. First off, I like it the voice actor sounds like Matt Smith, kudos there. I like it when they get people that sound like the Doctor..BUT..does he also have to do the voice for Amy?!? That kills it when they do voice actors for everyone else BUT the companions. Seriously? You can't find another female to do the voice of Amy or whomever else the companion is? Then there was no Rory. Why!?!? It just felt too odd to have all these other companions and then...
Bad storys that are being told boringly.
Brilliant, Brilliant! *^,^* Jacob Dudman is amazing! :D
Bit of an uneven collection. The first and last stories were good, but the two in the middle were meh.
