Walking in the Spirit: Making the Throne Room Our Livingroom, The Secret to Spiritual Transformation

Walking in the Spirit: Making the Throne Room Our Livingroom, The Secret to Spiritual Transformation

Walking in the Spirit vs. Walking in the Flesh

This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other; so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. – Gal. 5:16-17

The words, “Walk in the Spirit” are given in the form and tone of a command, which simply means to direct or order with authority.

These words reveal the heart of God for His children. If this direct order is not obeyed, there will be no walking in His presence, His provision, and His protection.

Insubordination to our commander not only means that we can’t do the right things that we would when our hearts are tender, but soon our hearts will harden through obeying the lusts out our flesh. James 1:15 says, “Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” Romans 8:6 says, “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”

Truly to obey the words, “walk in the Spirit” is a life or death decision. The sad truth is that the average believer could not tell you how to walk in the Spirit. Can you? Would you have to admit that most of the time you walk in spiritual death? Are you ready to allow your Lord to give you a spiritual resurrection?

Pour your heart out to God as King Him to humble your spirit, understanding that a humble spirit is a reachable, teachable spirit.
