Fallacy 2012 - A Novel

Fallacy 2012 - A Novel

Richard Hall
0/5 ( ratings)
Critically acclaimed by Urs Heinz Aerni , "Fallacy 2012 is a must read"..."highly informative and thrilling page turner". Fallacy 2012 is a gripping story that weaves current theories about evolution and transformation into the lives of its characters. The wafer-thin distinction between fiction and reality is one of the main sources of intrigue in the novel. The author subtly weaves the inspiring destinies of her two characters into a broader canvas of current political and social affairs. She gives readers intimate insight into the emotions of a deeply traumatized woman and with great empathy charts Sophia's path toward inner peace and equilibrium. 49-year-old Sophia's life is in tatters. Saved at the eleventh hour from a tragic judicial error, she embarks on the long process of rebuilding her life. While recuperating on a tiny island northeast of Sicily, she meets Nathan, a scientist who feels it is his life's calling to communicate the prophecies of the ancient Maya to a wider public. Nathan knows he must do everything in his power to refute the apocalyptic scenarios the doom-mongers predict for 2012 without trivializing the real risks. Sophia agrees to accompany him on this challenging journey. Will this dyed-in-the-wool skeptic and devoted biologist manage to enlighten humanity about the mysteries of 2012 in time?
About the Author
Swiss author Monica Camuglia's goal is to instill in her readers a profound awareness of their own personal responsibility for a peaceful and balanced life. "I have always been fascinated by life stories and the playing out of individual destinies," she says, "but I began writing in earnest around four years ago after a crisis in my personal life. In some ways it was therapeutic, but it also opened doors to new understanding of life's challenges." Over a twenty-year professional career in teaching and business, Monica struggled to find balance and happiness in her life. At the peak of her success she decided to step away and focus on her inner wellbeing and her relationship with humanity. It was a journey that would lead her to explore psychology, philosophy and spirituality, and to discover a path she realized she had been traveling all her life: that of the writer. She recently published her first book, Fallacy 2012, a gripping story in which she weaves current theories about evolution and transformation into the lives of her characters. Her upcoming novels include Maria Magdalena, a love story between an American officer posted in Afghanistan and a sensitive, spiritual woman and explores the concept of a just war; Jam, which follows the life of a tormented woman who becomes increasingly obsessed with protecting her daughter from her ex-husband; and The Tooth, the story of a woman who struggles to overcome profound depression caused by the loss of a loved one and her own identity. Monica speaks four languages and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the Graduate School of Business Administration Horgen, in Switzerland. She lives with her daughter near the shores of Lake Zurich.
