Going into a new year we all make resolutions, usually regarding our health and fitness, finances, and relationships. Eating better and exercising are good for you physically, but mental and emotional health are just as important. Finding ways to relieve stress, relax, meditate, becoming one with nature, and being our true selves. When I think of relaxing I think of sitting in the sun with a view of the ocean listening to the waves roll in. Maybe a waterfall or a running stream. Water has always...
Superficial coverage of Japanese concepts with a lot of digressions into other cultures, still a decent occasionally thought provoking book (particularly on the subject of relaxation).
More than a forest bathing book is a collection of reflections on Japanese culture and its relation to nature. Compared with other titles about this subjet it was light and vague.
The book was generally interesting and I enjoyed reading it, but I had a feeling that the authors kept forgetting what the topic was. In my opinion, some passages were added just to make the book longer. The "scientific" chapter of the book is not scientific enough. The pictures are great, though.
I have read other books by Hector and have always enjoyed them. I enjoyed this too but there was more science here than I expected. Don't get me wrong, the science is interesting and I now have a deeper knowledge of what I'll be doing and the benefits of it once I enter the forest.
Had ook in 1 pagina gekund 😅
