All the tropes. Orphans, cruelty, beautiful mothers, twins, intrigue. All the details. Scrounging scraps not fit for a dog, bitter cold weather, kindly cooks. The only twist is that the boys are not chimney sweeps, but assistants in an ice delivery business. No magic, but also no definable historical period so no educational value.Not nearly as interesting, rich, or 'good' as the author's Victoria.

It was intresting but not the best but if your into mystery I would suggest it
Though a young adult book, this was better written than many an adult cozy. And with a good twist at the end.
Even though this is a books for children it was very mysterious. I got this book at our library book sale. I liked the cover, my cover is different, and the description led me to think it would be a good mystery book to read. I wasn't wrong. This is one of my all-time favourite books. However, it must be emphasized that you should read this book, not listen to it. The reader on the unabridged audiobook is totally subpar. The book is amazing!
This is simply a great adventure story for immediate readers.
An interesting little mystery for school children.
