Uplifts: Heirs to the Future

Uplifts: Heirs to the Future

Julian Paquette
5/5 ( ratings)
A stellar RPG for a great price:

Uplifts: Heirs to the Future is a table top roleplaying game with a rich and compelling story coupled with a system that prioritizes being easy and direct to allow players to focus on story and having fun over convoluted rules. This book is designed with players and Game Masters in mind with easy to follow guides and set at a price people can actually afford.

The story is about a race of engineered people and three planets: The primitive world of Pao, the modern but turbulent planet of Eo, and the sprawling space station of Logos perched above a gas giant. These worlds are full of fantastic and strange technologies, bizarre and horrifying monsters, and sandwiched between everything is a helping of deadly intrigue! Between these worlds there is space, as in, adventure with space ships, stations, and all the oddities the big black can provide. Endless adventures await for endless character options.

Three planets, three settings: This book has several well writen settings to serve as the groundswork for whatever kind of story you want to play. The game has a fully functional hard scifi setting, a complete modern setting, and a distinct ancient fantasy setting.
-Strangers in a bizarre land: A barbarian swordsman running around a shopping mall, a space man teaching primatives the ways of civilization, an average joe on a space ship he has no idea how to control. This book uses a system that is balanced and compatible with such differences in setting. You too can retell the classic terrible sequels to classic movies.
-Making characters is fast, easy, and lets you shape your character the way you want it to be. There are dozens of unique races in this system including animal people, robots, cyborgs, or honest normal people. You shape your character how you want. With the easy to learn rules you can play how you want as fast as you want.

30 unique playable species: From serpents to sloths and from monkies to mechs.
-Diverse character creation: Have skills or have stats? Be Einstein or Adonis? In this system you can choose to either gain skills and knowledge or refine your characters base stats. In between you can have both: A lumbering expert in one specific field or a squishey Da Vinci.
-5 Step character creation: The hardest part of any RPG is broken down to just five easy steps! Go from knowing nothing to playing the game in a matter of minutes. This is actually true. I sat down and timed it and the worst, slowest its taken to make a character took less than thirty minutes while the fastest took two minutes.
-This book has everything you need to play. The 3Stat system has has been designed especially for new comers and veterans. It operates on the concept of derivative stats, which means that if you know one number about a character you can determine other details about it. For this game you only need this book and a pencil. Paper and afew ten-sided dice are recommended.
