Stone: Bounty Hunter Book # 9: The Sheriff of Dawson's Pass: "Killing Big John": Old West Action and Adventures of Deputy US Marshal and Bounty Hunter Jake Stone.

Stone rides into the little town Of Dawson’s Pass with the bodies of two dead outlaws as well as the money they had stolen from the town’s bank. The little town has no sheriff because no one wants the job. That leaves him to deal with the mayor in order to collect his bounties.
The mayor asked him to just wear the sheriff’s badge for a while and see how it felt. The mayor also insinuates that if he doesn't, he might not collect the bounties he has already earned. Before he knows it, Stone finds himself the sheriff in the small burg of Dawson's Pass. This town presents something most towns don't have and don't want. It's along the path taken by a good number of outlaws, gunslingers, and other no-counts traveling in West Texas. All Stone has to do is wait for them to come to him. After capturing or killing them, he can collect the bounty. Not only is he going to make a killing, but he will also likely have to do some killing. The mayor never mentioned the trouble he might have with "Big John."
Ride along with Jake Stone as he encounters ever-present danger and occasional romance in what was once the wild west frontier.
