Finding Dragons (and Driggles)

Finding Dragons (and Driggles)

Theo Dombrowski
0/5 ( ratings)
Several hundred copies of a shorter, printed version of this book were sold on Vancouver Island, primarily through a gift shop. With its colourful illustrations and verses about different dragon characters, the book appealed mostly to children from ages 3 to 10. Many children adopt a favourite dragon, whether it be Burple--the Ice Cream Dragon, Bubbadrub--the Sea Dragon, Cinnawimble and Xak--the Tricksy Twins, Graciella--Princess Pretender or any of the other colourful and quirky characters. To the original cast, four new characters have been added, including Tulip--the Snow Dragon. The comic and catchy rhythms of the verses are designed to develop children's ear for the music of language. The portraits of the dragons, meanwhile, are intended to reinforce important values like avoiding gender stereotyping and kindness, but, of course, in the guise of extravagant humour.
