In all honesty, I didn't even understand about a third of these poems. The ones I DID understand, I enjoyed. But I will say that nothing makes me feel like less of a poet than reading intellectual poetry.

Landon, Thank You, Forgiveness by Bryce Berkowitz, Landscape with Horse & Two Boys Kissing by Aidan Forster, and Altarpiece in Apricot Light by JD Scott.
Excellent collection of the best new poets from 2017. So many beautiful, brutal poems, but my favorite was on page 62. Love that Meghan Maguire Dahn! :-)
It’s always hard to rate these books except in comparison to other books in the same series. This is the first one I’ve read, so I guess my rating is provisional. I liked many of the poems and didn’t hate any of them, but there were quite a few that left me cold. One thing that surprised me is how many long poems were included.
