Really fun issue! I think so far this series has been a lot of fun, and I like that DC has been doing all these crossovers with other publishers recently! The story is also very smart, more then what I expected from a crossover title. Crossovers have clearly evolved since the 90s lol. Artwork is also pretty decent!
We have issue two of the Wonder Woman/Conan crossover. We get some nice pulp action full of Hyborian tropes. Wonder Woman has lost her memory and is forced to fight Conan in a gladiator match. Of course they will become friends. This reminds me of the What If comic #39 where Thor met Conan. An enjoyable comic for fans of either character.
Die, Yanna. Are you joking...

CONAN THE BARBARIAN VERSUS WONDER WOMAN!The adventure continues ... starts slow, but picks up towards the end. I’ve never seen Wonder Woman so muscular in every single panel!
This works well. I particularly like the voice of the narrator, very Conan. The story is enjoyable but I think the one thing that stops me giving it an extra star is that Wonder Woman is so formless at the moment, this is of course due to her lost memory but it does make this much more of a Conan book than a shared story. The art is solid with good action sequences
Not as compelling as the first issue.
So far so good in this series. A flash back to youth then to the battle. I knew there would be a fight coming between these two, but it was short. However thus issue did move the story along. A couple of points Wonder Woman does not have her full Amazon/divine strength or the fight would have been a lot shorter. I do like that fact that she does have to rely more on skills, the Conan art and attitudes suit the series perfectly.
Full series review on issue #6.Issue 2, "Blade & Bracelets, Blood & Sand", though brutal action and grim adventure, the language is leaning into more man-vs-woman rhetoric. In R. E. Howard's Conan takes, the Cimmerian was well-learned, well-traveled, and courageous even when exhibiting fear. He never showed disrespect to women and he clearly had a strong affection for Bélit. In crossovers, Conan always seems to be given more of a soft, heartbroken vibe, like with Valeria, Bélit, and Red Sonja. I...
I’m not going to lie. If I didn’t love both these characters so much I would’ve stopped at #1. If I didn’t have faith in Gail Simone’s writing I wouldn’t have purchased this. The jury is still out for this one.
Still entertaining.
