Grandpa John Willy is old and somewhat tired of life. He announces to his family that he does not wish to become a nuisance and intends to keep out of the way and allow himself to die. His family, who all love him, are appalled and decide that they will do their best to prevent this and make his life worth living. The leader in this is young Daisy whose great stories are enjoyed by everyone, particularly Grandpa. She willingly agrees to write some new tales which she knows John Willy will enjoy and which, hopefully, will help him to change his mind. The big question is will Daisy's stories be enough to make Grandpa decide to abandon his plan?
