Educational Innovation

Educational Innovation

Educational Innovation also Happens to Change the Interior Design of Schools, and Ikea Knows How to Help

We talked a lot about innovating in methodologies in education, but we still teach in classrooms that have the same green desks from thirty years ago. If we want to encourage creativity and interaction among students, we also need to change the way we distribute spaces and decorate them in schools.

I know that much of the educational community coincides with me in the opinion that their spaces of study and work have become outdated. SEM methodology, work for projects or cooperative learning, is somewhat at odds with the rigidity of the classrooms and the boring of their decorations. We need new distributions and new furniture that facilitate collaboration and awaken the imagination of students.

The spaces

We need more open and connected spaces. As has happened with the houses, in which we have gone from an excessive division to the connection between the different stays, in the schools we have to change also the chip.
