I absolutely loved this one; however, we have variant covers available (or additional copies of the same issue). I did enjoy seeing Aneka's role as Captain of the Doja Milenja, and Ayo, the rookie, and how the initiation begun which crafty folds into a future prospect. The storyline was helpful as well to see how the closeness began. The artwork was amazing too.
this is more queer than the last ones!! ayo and aneka 4eva!!
wow, my first comic and I want more!!!
Wonderful This book is beautifully drawn and masterfully written. It is Afrocentric and rich. Reading it feels luxurious. I find the characters very compelling and the story arc is heading in a fascinating direction. Can't wait to read more!
Snapshots of life as a Dora Milaje and the beginning of a romance between two of the formidable women among them. While it was interesting getting a glimpse of this aspect of Wakanda, I'm not sure if I'm interested enough to keep reading this series.
I'm still pretty new to Black Panther, having seen the movie and read exactly one comic book in the Rise of the Black Panther series. I feel like I'm missing something. Why is Shuri the queen now? And what happened to her? I feel like I'd have appreciated this more if I knew more about the background story. I liked Ayo and Aneka's love story, especially the end, but clearly I need to brush up on my Wakandan history.
Full transparency: I'm not a superheroes comic person, and I read this because I said I would, for work. Appreciate the f/f romance, but since I don't have the Wakanda history, aside from seeing the Black Panther movie, this was disjointed and difficult to follow. Definitely doesn't work as a stand-alone, imo.

Love for Wakanda!!Have always loved this comic. Positive images and strong females make for great reading. I hope the movie does the series justice.
Good ReadCan't wait to see what's the World of Demands is all about. Captain Aneka with those face tattoos and I like her training outfit. The Midnight Angels and Ayo so ready for the next installment.
Gay and Harvey are off to a good start. Looking for to seeing what'll be next for Ayo, Folami and the rest of the Dora Milaje.
T'challa finds a new enemy.Good color artwork. One of three hundred comics marvel gave out on national read a book day , Sept six. T'challa does not appear at first. His enemies grow in knowledge and power.
A good start to the story especially with the focus on the Dora Milaje. With Roxane Gay's writing I think I'll be enjoying this more than the previous Black Panther comic that I've read. I hope the rest of the comic series is as good.
The Wakanda represented in this graphic novel is the not the Wakanda I saw in the movie. It's darker and grittier. And, most importantly, Black Panther is not reflected in a good light. He comes off as a villain-- neglectful, selfish, and arrogant. The dialog was at times a bit corny, the saving grace of the story being the extremely detailed illustrations. The women are drawn beautifully, their grace and strength jumping out from the frames. I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Ayo and Ane...
It's good but very short for the priceThe writing and art is very good, I of course want to see how this story plays out. But, pricing this comic the same as a full book is ludicrous. The whole story should be priced not much higher than the cost of one comic. It is far too expensive.
All I wanted was MORE Ayo and Aneka. So much that I resented the other story lines and really could have lived without them. Wakanda forever.Ayo and Aneka forever.
The stories Ayo and Aneka bring some much needed fresh blood to the Marvel 616-verse.
all I have to say is I loved it.
I'm not a hue fan of comics but I had to read this and it did not disappoint, very dynamic and had some historical significance while very entertaining.
A good story if, like most comics, rather slight.
