DOCTOR K: A novel of psychological friction

DOCTOR K: A novel of psychological friction

R.S. Doran
0/5 ( ratings)
"Doctor K" is legal and psychological story of a veterinarian and his wife and staff who are wrongfully accused of serious federal and state offenses and are railroaded into the nefarious Los Angeles County Jail system at the hands of a Neo Nazi extremist and an unscrupulous federal prosecutor. The plot is complex, with characters whose psyches are explored in depth and who undergo character changes. There are major twists to the plot, which require careful reader analysis, and while the story is fictional, its setting is not. While it takes place in the year 2006, it raises social and political issues which have become viral, such as immigration, feminist issues, and the misuse of power by authorities and the media. The veterinarian's dog and cat are crucial to the plot and there is plenty of courtroom drama at the end-and a few surprises. While the story has its moments of levity and can be said to "have something for everyone", it serves as a hard commentary on the vagaries of the US legal and political systems. The book was authored by a former attorney who practiced law and currently resides in Los Angeles, where most of the story takes place.
