Amy stepped backwards, a breath caught in her throat. Another step took her closer to the wall, where she let herself droop to rest near the closed blinds.
“Please, I understand this must be distressing, but do try to keep calm.”
Inhaling slowly, she stood upright again, making a conscious attempt to keep her breath steady.
'Sorry, I'm sorry. I just wasn't... wasn't expecting... I'm okay.' Regaining composure, Amy took a few tentative steps back towards the bed, towards Adrian.
