The Mystery of Broken Shell Island & Other Fantasy Tales

Dayla Moon
0/5 ( ratings)
A collection of Angela Pepper's young adult fantasy and romance books originally published under the pen name Dalya Moon.

BROKEN SHELL ISLAND

"An entrancing tale by a fresh voice in YA fantasy."
"All the charm of Harry Potter, with a good dose of humor. A fantastic, magical book for kids and parents alike!"

Opal gets a dirty old suitcase for her birthday.

She's not impressed.

Her grandfather tells her she'll need it, because she's going to live with her great aunt on Broken Shell Island. Opal wonders if her grandfather hasn't gone senile, because Broken Shell Island is a made-up magical place that their family friend Flora Fritz writes picture books about.

Oh, but the island is real. And magic.

Opal encounters magical plants, animals, and danger, too. The evening she arrives, a body is discovered in the woods, not far from where she passed through. Worse, a terrifying creature has emerged from the ground, and it hungers for the innocent, whether the people of the island believe in it or not.

Life is beautiful, magical, and perilous, on Broken Shell Island.

LOVE & ELEPHANTS

Carter's sister keeps trying to set him up. She means well, but he's just not interested in silly things like dating or falling in love. But when the wrong woman shows up at his blind date, and identities are confused, something magic might happen.

LOVE SINGER

A struggling musician discovers she's a witch who can cast spells with her songs.

SPIRITDELL BOOK 1

Zan West has a strange power that only works on girls. He doesn't know why he has this so-called “gift,” but it's killing his chances of ever getting a girlfriend.

Then he meets an older girl named Austin, and she's strangely immune to his power. Zan can't see her secrets, but he can't see her future, either. There's something she isn't telling him, and it's driving him mad.

Zan consults a powerful witch who offers him peace of mind in exchange for his power. What he doesn't know is this so-called peace of mind comes with a big, bad heaping of death. The permanent kind.

SPIRITDELL BOOK 2

It’s Halloween, and Zan is pressed to solve a murder. Zan is no ordinary high school boy, and he believes he can use his magical power to find the killer. Even with his visions, Zan won’t find this murder easy to solve, especially when he can’t tell who, or what, is plotting against him. As he unravels ancient secrets, Zan gets closer to the killer, and will be forced to choose sides. If he makes the wrong choice, someone dear to him will pay the price.

PRACTICE CAKE

"I ate this book up. Great characters, fantastic story line, ample humor, it's all there! If you are looking for something light, sweet, but with a purpose, welcome to your next read."
- Jessica of Hopelessly Devoted Bibliophile

Maddie Bird is out of high school. Whoopee. This summer is turning out to be, in blogger Chloe's words, "hashtag, the worst." The weather's cold, the economy sucks, and the city is overrun with hockey playoff bandwagoners.

At least Maddie has a bakery job she loves. She's never had much money, but she is a hard worker. There's just one problem: her flirty co-worker, Drew. All it takes is one of his sly winks, and she's incinerating the cookies.

Maddie's best friend keeps pushing her cousin Hudson as a potential love-puppy. He's clever and has nice brown eyes, but he's so arrogant. Which is ironic, since the guy's hobby is making origami. Come on.
