The Tiger & The Dragon: A Business Parable

The Tiger & The Dragon: A Business Parable

Mark McNeilly
5/5 ( ratings)
What can a short book about a tiger and a dragon can teach you about competing in today’s tough business world. A good -- and fair -- question! Mark and Becky wrote this parable book to communicate a different and better way of competing in business. It's based on the strategic philosophy of the ancient Chinese general, Sun Tzu, which he captured in his military classic on strategy, The Art of War, many hundreds of years ago.
Unfortunately, The Art of War, while well-known and much touted, is not easily digested, and it’s even less well understood. This isn't surprising, given it was written for ancient warriors in Asia over two millennia ago, and contains 13 chapters, including some rather esoteric topics. It’s not easy for today’s busy businessperson to read, let alone apply it to his or her challenges. Many people have read The Art of War at least once.

But the bigger question lingers: what have you done with it?

Both authors have written successful books applying Sun Tzu’s concepts to modern business. The Tiger & The Dragon is an effort to encapsulate the very essence of Sun Tzu’s principles via an entertaining, easily-digestible and memorable parable. And just like the battlefield sages of millennia ago, its purpose is to enable the reader to seize every advantage.

We leave it to you, the reader, to determine if we have been successful in that attempt.
