A chapbook of Slater's Tibet-related fiction and nonfiction, produced for "A Tibetan Family History," a multi-media presentation Slater gave at The Rubin Museum in NYC. The book includes work published by The Huffington Post, HarperCollins, and Kyoto Journal, as well as excerpts from Slater's novel and memoir. Ranging from turn-of-the-century Tibet and Darjeeling to France and contemporary California, many of the pieces are based on Slater's Tibetan family history and relate to pilgrimage. "We are drawn to places by our dreams, the dreams of our ancestors, and the collective dreaming of people through the centuries," Slater writes. "These places are made special for us by what happened there, whether in our personal history or the larger history of the world..."
