Christmas is coming. For most kids, Christmas promises presents and bright lights and joyous songs hanging in the air. For Maxwell Beldam and his friends, it promises the coming of the Krampus.

It comes in the night, taking 1,000 naughty children every year, making them disappear as if they had never existed. This year it is coming to Maxwell's town, and he is determined to stop it. However, monsters crawling through the dark aren't the only things complicating his life right now. Not all of his friends agree that they should be trying to protect the bad kids the Krampus targets. His best friend Charlie has serious objections to saving the same kids who beat them up and makes their lives miserable. Poor Maxwell is left with two choices. Either he gives up and lets the Krampus have its way with his town, or he stands up to it and risks losing the person he cares about most in the world.
