This is the Parallel English / Latin Vulgate version of the Bible. The Latin Vulgate is St. Jerome's translation from the Greek and Hebrew which was completed in the 5th century. His text became the standard translation of the Bible for the Roman empire and the Latin West. The English text is the Douay–Rheims Bible, as edited by bishop Richard Challoner.

This ebook presents the English and Latin side-by-side, allowing one to read the English with the Latin close at hand.

There are a number of ways to look up a given verse with your Kindle reader:

1. The Table of Contents: Navigate the table of contents, which is organized by book and chapter number.

2. Search by reference: Type in the abbreviated code for the book of the Bible followed by the verse, then press the 'enter' key twice. e.g. 'mat1.5' + enter + enter. The abbreviated codes are found in the Table of Contents.

3. Use the NCX index: Use the NCX menu in the same manner as the table of contents.
